Beyond My Father’s Shadow
{2 CD set}

Recordings by Fran Yardley
Three CDs of storytelling equal hours of sitting back and letting your imagination take a magic carpet ride. Fran's stories vary from tales of the Adirondacks to personal stories to tales ranging from slightly to very tall.
The Sears Roebuck Baby features the true (really!) story of Fran's birth in a station wagon in front of Sears Roebuck in Buffalo, NY. This recording also includes the Adirondack story of Buster, the Dog and a favorite Iroquois story about how the Big Dipper came to be. Don't miss Fran's first “tairy fale”, the mixed up story of Prinderella!
$15 plus shipping and handling and NYS tax if sold in NY.
May I Have This Dance? has the title original story, only slightly fictitious, of a 13 year old girl who is 6'3" tall and who rediscovers her love of dancing. It also includes one of the all time favorite Adirondack stories of Ray Fadden and his porcupine, Needles. You will also hear another “tairy fale”, Lodyglocks and the Bee Thrares, an original adaptation of a very familiar old story about bee thrares and a gittle lirl named Lodyglocks and the original story of Martha, about a brave young woman and her fight against Tuberculosis in the Adirondack wilderness.
$15 plus shipping and handling and NYS tax if sold in NY.
Beyond My Father's Shadow is a double CD; a collection of four original stories about Fran and her dad. Among them are “Refusing to Fly”, in which we find out what happens when a daughter finally says no to her dad and “Welcoming the Drums”, wherein lays the tale of a daughter’s struggle to understand her father. Jay O'Callahan, Lake Placid Winter Olympics Storyteller and NEA Fellow from the Boston area says of this CD, "The work of a very fine artist. Bravo!"
$20 plus shipping and handling and NYS tax if sold in NY.
